Discover the history, customs and pleasures of the royal tables. The riches of the Loire Valley “The Garden of France” are steeped in history with roots dating to the era of Julius Caesar. During the French Renaissance this region was a strategic geographical and economic location for trade and with its beautiful, verdant landscape, the royal courts built its pleasure palaces here. Farms provided meat and poultry, vegetables and fruits and its huge forests provided game meats. The Loire Valley is famous for its chevre and some of the best dry white wines in France; Sancerre and Pouilly Fumé are among the best.
This trip includes cultural visits and dining experiences in Paris and Lyon with interactive cooking class and demonstrations at world famous l’Institut Paul Bocuse in Ecully just outside of Lyon.
